Jaroslav Vojtek
(1968, Žilina) – film director, cinematographer, script writer
Graduate from Film and TV Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts, Bratislava, department of direction of documentary films.
In 1999, he directed short story “Rojkovia” from a full-length feature film “Šesť statočných”.

Slepá viera (1993) – a portrayal of a grave-digger devoted to the socialist ideals
Keby bol hlas zvonu čarovný (1994) - a portrayal of the last living bell ringer
Vlasy II (1995) - a portrayal of a priest with new ideals, Literary Fund Award
Strom (1995) – about a man and a tree given to Vatican as a present
Nepozná ona mňa, ani ja ju... (1996) - a film about antagonistic relationship of two people even after 30 years; Igric Premium for documentary film
Kameň po kameni (1997) - a film about an enthusiastic man reconstructing ruins of a castle and believing in communist ideals 
Vtedy na východe (2000) - about one village where Holy Mary appeared
Nechcené deti (2001) – documentary series about children from children homes
Akvárium (2001) - a film about Kosovo refugees who live in gymnasium in Beograd
Blázonko (2003) - about a man with mental and psychic condition; Igric Premium

He is currently working on a new full-length documentary film “Hranica” (Border) about a village divided by a border.

 


 

Marek Leščák
(1971, Bratislava) – script writer
Graduated from Academy of Performing Arts, Bratislava, department of Dramaturgy and Script writing.
Since 2001 teacher at FTF Academy of Performing Arts, Bratislava.

Záhrada (Garden, 1995) – (together with Martin Šulík and Ondrej Šulaj), Czech Lion Award 1995 for the Best Script; film was awarded many international prizes
Orbis pictus (1997) - (with Martin Šulík and Ondrej Šulaj) – Jury Award at the IFF Mannheim 1997 and Award of the Slovak Film Critics for the best Feature Film
Praha očima (1998) – “Obrázky z výletu”, short story in the compilation (with Martin Šulík and Ondrej Šulaj)
Slnečný štát (2005) - (with Martin Šulík), Golden Penguin Grand Prix at the Czech film presentation Finale Plzeň 2005

Andrej Bán
(1964, Bratislava) – author of the story
Photographer and journalist. He brings reports from Slovakia and conflict regions in the world (Kosovo, Israel, Iran, South America) for the national media (Format, Domino forum, SME) and international media (Reflex, The Guardian, Libération, TIME, The New Yorker). Member of the international jury at Czech Press Photo (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004).

Journalist in Mladé rozlety magazine (1987-1990), photographer in Plus 7 dní magazine (1990-1991), freelanced photographer (1991-1992), journalist in Mladý svět magazine (1992-1995), Reflex (1995-2001), INDEX Book Club (2001-2003).
Chairman of the Človek v ohrození (People in Peril), humanitarian organization, co-founder of the Slovak Documentary Photo Association. Winner of the Crystal Wing 2005 for humanitarian aid organized for Asia after tsunami disaster.
